Recent Google Changes Every time you figure out what’s going on with Google ranking patterns it seems like they change the rules again. Just as well that at SEMS Consultancy we have been watching closely and can reveal the most recent Google changes! It used to be the case that Google would index and crawl the internet every month or so and that rankings would change all at once. Ranking changes can now take place on an almost daily basis with the greatest changes happening during major ranking criteria updates. The most recent Google changes are as follows: 1. Reciprocal linking (where Site A links to Site B and Site B links back to Site A in return) has been downgraded by Google. You would therefore be well advised to stop participating in link exchange programmes and instead to focus on developing your site’s natural link equity. Do you have any feedback that you'd like to share about this article or any questions that you'd like answered? Let us know! Send comments to newsletter@semsconsultancy.co.uk
